Earlier in May, we held our first CSA party. The Rourke Gallery and Museum hosted, Green Market provided hors d’oeuvres, Bernie’s did a wine tasting, and we distributed our first three pieces of art from artists Emily Williams-Wheeler, Nordic Arts Alliance and Jill Johnson, and Theatre B. In addition, TAP board member and FMCT costumer Shelly Hurt-Geist made 50 gorgeous, individual bags to hold the art, and The Rourke and the Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society donated Bumper Crop items.
With nearly 100 people in attendance, the evening was a fun mix of meeting new people, eating and drinking, looking at the art inside The Rourke, watching a mini performance by Theatre B, and anticipating what was going to be inside those beautiful bags.
There was surprise and delight at the pieces by the artists as people opened their bags. I received an e-mail from a shareholder later in the week, and it best sums up the purpose of the CSA:
“We loved our CSA!! I’ve got ‘Ragnar’ my beeswax monkey hanging in my office. He makes me laugh every day. The cool print from Emily is in our family room and looks great there. The funky bag is full of all my CCLI stuff. And, Mike and I are already looking forward to our “date” for the CSA party nights and at Theatre B. Thank you. We’re so happy we bought into the CSA!”
Can’t wait for the next party in July!
