The Arts Partnership staff and board are pleased to welcome four new members to our Board of Directors as of the new fiscal year. These members provide a wide range of experience, perspectives and passion for the arts that we are confident will move our organization to an exciting new level! Our new board members include:
Executive Director of Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra
Linda Boyd has been Executive Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra since 2007, a position she also held from 1993-1996. Originally from Jamestown, ND, Linda is a longtime Fargo resident and lifelong active artist. She holds Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degrees in music from MSUM and taught music at her alma mater as well as University of North Dakota and West Fargo High School before entering the field of non-profit arts administration in 1990 as executive director of Lake Agassiz Arts Council (now The Arts Partnership).
She co-owned a recording studio and independent record label from 1995-2011 and served as Fargo City Commissioner and deputy mayor of Fargo (2004-2008), and in 2010 was elected to the Fargo School Board, where she served two terms. In addition to other volunteer work, Linda currently serves on the City of Fargo Mayor’s Task Force for a Performing Arts Center. She has contributed drawings and paintings to countless charity auctions over the years and looks forward to creating more visual art after she retires from FMSO this fall.
Artist and Senior Marketing Specialist at Sanford Health
Scott Seiler is a lead marketing specialist with Sanford Health and a fine art landscape photographer. He has more than 25 years of experience in strategic marketing, communications and media relations in the health care, agriculture, construction and visual arts industries.
He is currently a partner member and vice president at Gallery 4, an artist cooperative gallery in Fargo; a partner member with The Arts Partnership and served on the Fargo Moorhead Visual Artists (FMVA) Board. In addition, he was a past grant recipient of The Arts Partnership and was an Artist in Residence grantee with TMI Hospitality and Bushel, formerly Myriad Mobile.
He is a life-long North Dakota resident, who grew up on a ranch near Raleigh. He currently lives in Fargo.
Creative Director at Choice Bank
Shelley Szudera has been the Creative Director at Choice Bank since 2013. Originally from Beach, ND, Shelley has spent much of her youth dreaming about exploring the world and creating things that were inspiring and meaningful. After she received her BFA in Graphic Design from MSUM in 2005, Shelley spent seven years living and working in San Francisco with her husband Kurt before moving back to North Dakota.
Inspired by Choice Bank’s passion to “better the places we live,” Shelley worked with TAP to conceive and implement the #SupportLocalArt debit card series that featured local artwork and raised donations for arts councils across the state. She also advocated to implement our ArtWORKS program in four Choice Bank locations in the community. In addition to our board, Shelley also serves as the President of the American Advertising Federation of North Dakota. She and her husband live in the historic Hawthorne neighborhood in Fargo with their three cats and their new daughter, Marley.
Release Manager at Microsoft
Shyla lives in West Fargo with her husband Josh, their two children Raleigh and Leah, and their dog Murdoch. She grew up in North Central Minnesota on the Iron Range and came to the F/M area to attend Concordia College where she graduated with majors in Physics and Print Journalism.
She worked for Microsoft as a Technical writer for 16 years and now works for Microsoft as a Release manager. In her free time, she is a fiction writer, an amateur photographer, a gardener, and an all-around collector of hobbies. She is an avid supporter of the arts and looks forward to serving on the The Arts Partnership board.
We would also like to thank Ellen Shafer, Crystal Gilson and Kim Pigeon for their valuable service on our board the last fiscal year! To view all of our current board members, visit our Staff + Board page.
