It’s nearly February, which means GIVING HEARTS DAY is around the corner! Many of you know that Giving Hearts Day is the largest 24-hour fundraiser in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Since 2008, host organizations Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Foundation and the Alex Stern Family Foundation have raised over $55 million dollars from generous donors in our community for hundreds of local nonprofits of all causes. $13.1 million dollars was raised from 28,000 people last year alone!
This year, more than 450 nonprofit organizations are participating in Giving Hearts Day on Feb. 14. The Arts Partnership is not one of these organizations this year, as we hosted our own fundraiser back in the fall, but that means we can focus more on spreading the word about Partner arts organizations participating in the big day.
These Partner arts organizations include (in alphabetical order): Concordia College, Creative Plains Foundation, F-M Ballet, F-M Community Theatre, F-M Opera, F-M Symphony Orchestra, Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, Lake Agassiz Concert Band, Oak Grove Lutheran School, Plains Art Museum, Probstfield Farm, Red River Dance, Red River Market, Red River Zoo, Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead, The Human Family, Theatre B and Trollwood Performing Arts School.
Whew. That’s a LOT of arts organizations making an impact in our Metro! This list is not exhaustive of the arts organizations participating in Giving Hearts Day, but these are organizations who live under our umbrella and interact with our organization on a daily basis. To break down this long list, we are going to highlight our Partners in two parts, with the first nine listed below (the other nine will follow in a blog next week).
