We learned about the differences between fund raising and fund development and whose job those two very different tasks are. We also learned to talk about the funding gap versus what we need. Perhaps the most important thing we learned, and we learned a lot!, was how to tell our compelling story. We practiced, received feedback, and worked on it in a variety of ways.
Positive comments abounded around the round tables. In fact, at least two organizations received a check right on the spot because of their compelling ask!
Thank you to the FM Area Foundation for partnering with The Arts Partnership, to Darcy Putman of the Foundation for all your hard work, to the board of TAP for helping make this happen, and most especially to Lori Jacobwith for coming and sharing all this incredible information with us all. It was a fun, insightful, and knowledge-filled day!
