For amateur photographers, nothing has given us more power than the popular smartphone app, Instagram. It’s got a lot going for it. Instagram’s filters and vignetting functions put some flashy touches on your final product, but it’s real strength lies in its accessibility (right at your fingertips) and, of course, its social tools that allow you to share a visual world with friends and fellow Instagrammers across the globe.
Coordinated Instagramming is all the rage these days. Consider this dynamite collection of photos of Minneapolis-St. Paul recently published over at the City Page’s Dressing Room blog, or this Instagram Your City effort at Social Media Week. In each case, amateurs and pros alike join together for something fun and collaborative with all the new-fangled, new-media connectivity you crave.
With that, we’d love to see your visual interpretations of Fargo-Moorhead through Instagram (or your favorite photo sharing app) in an ongoing project we’ll call #instagramfargo. It’s so simple. Take a photo of buildings, an event, a signature dish, or whatever … something that screams “Fargo” to you. Tag it #instagramfargo. Share it out on Instagram or your favorite social network. Maybe tag us (@artspulse) while you’re at it, or post it to our Facebook page. And, maybe put in a sentence of explanation. From there, we’ll periodically harvest our favorites and post them to our Storify account.
