This weekend, more than 75 artists in 40 locations across Fargo-Moorhead welcome the public into their studios for the 14th annual FMVA Studio Crawl!
From 12-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, come and see established artists, educators and emerging artists in the community demonstrate their creative processes and show their work, including the following Primary Arts Partners of The Arts Partnership:
Barry Kutzer and Ruth Severson (pictured above) of the Red River Valley Woodcarvers
Ellen Jean Diederich
NDSU Ceramics Club
Spirit Room Art Studios
Glass artist and Studio Crawl Director Jon Offut says the Studio Crawl “helps to display the diversity of the visual arts located right here in our neighborhoods.”
Many people don’t realize that artists live among them, and the Studio Crawl is the one time of year the community gets invited into artists’ studios to see what’s happening in their community, he explains.
This year’s Studio Crawl will feature artists from previous years and artists that are new to the Crawl. Every studio, attendees will find, is vastly different from the next.
The purpose of the Studio Crawl is to support local art and have fun! See what you want to see, and if you aren’t sure where to begin your journey, a good place to start is at Partner Plains Art Musuem, where a sneak-peak exhibit featuring all participating artists in the Crawl are on display.
We recommend checking the Studio Crawl map beforehand and planning your route to maximize your Studio Crawl experience! You can also view this map ArtMoi created for the FMVA. We hope to see you out and about!
NOTE: Zhimin Guan will be at Partner Brad Bachmeier’s studio instead of the location listed on the map.
