The Fargo Public Library will host “The Westerns: America’s Cinematic Genre,” a four-week series featuring classic western movies, starting Sunday, March 31, at the downtown Main Library.
A screening of the film “My Darling Clementine” (1946) is set for Sunday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room. Local film critic and historian Tony McRae, along with local film critic Matt Olien, selected the films. They will introduce each movie and lead a brief discussion after each showing as part of the series.
Other dates and film titles in the series include (all film start times are 2 p.m.):
April 7 – “The Searchers” (1956)
April 28 – “The Professionals” (1966)e
May 5 – “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969, PG)
The films are approximately 100 minutes long and free popcorn will be served. Children age 9 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For details, call the Information Desk at 701.241.1492.
