The Art Ghoullery at the Rourke
Black Cats & Vampire Bats Haunt The Rourke this October
From October 4 through November 2, artists from across North America gather again for The Art Ghoullery at The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum. And this time, they bring something…familiar.
A love-letter to the scariest of holidays, ”The Art Ghoullery: Black Cats & Vampire Bats” brings frightening fringe art back to The Rourke with the assistance of fantastic artists; local and remote. The interpretation of motif ranges from cute to creepy, while the diversity of visual language on display creates a macabre melody sure to delight both the sinister and silly.
The Art Ghoullery is on display from October 4 through November 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and by appointment on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with a special Masquerade Reception hosted by The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum on Friday, October 25 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. that eve. Attendees to the Masquerade Reception and encouraged to don masks and wear costumes during the evening’s revelry, though disguise is not a necessary key to entry.
