Love Letters at Theatre B

Theatre B Offers Special Performance of LOVE LETTERS for Valentine’s Weekend

Valentine’s weekend only at Theatre B. Starring co-founders Carrie and David Wintersteen, LOVE LETTERS takes us on a journey of deep love and longing. Childhood pen pals are tethered forever by a lifetime of letters. Beginning with the notes they pass in their grade school classroom, their letters reveal an intimacy and candor Andy and Melissa can’t quite seem to share when they are together. Physically distant, but deeply connected, they are friends, lovers, family, caregivers, and confidants.

Written by A.R. Gurney (The Cocktail Hour, Sylvia), LOVE LETTERS was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Gurney wrote the piece to be performed by a rotating cast of famous actors, and over the years it has been performed by Kathleen Turner and John Rubinstein; Julie Harris and George Grizzard; Colleen Dewhurst and Jason Robards; Lynn Redgrave and John Clark, and many more. In his production notes, Gurney says, “This is a play which needs no commitment from its actors beyond the night of performance… In performance, they listen eagerly and actively to each other… much as we might listen to an urgent voice on a one-way radio, coming from far, far away.”

This special event for Valentines weekend has only three scheduled performances. Compelling, funny, and poignant, LOVE LETTERS is perfect for an evening out, romantic or otherwise.

Performances:

Thursday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m.
