Ellen Jean Diederich is a national award-winning watercolor and acrylic painter and workshop instructor from Fargo, North Dakota. Graduating with a B. F.A. in Fine art and a B.A. in Art Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead, she has been painting professionally since 1985. Proud of her Mid-west heritage, Ellen brings sincerity and love to each painting.
Susan Poitras was originally from the Minneapolis area, settled in Fargo in 1976 with her husband. She studied Fine Arts at
the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Montana State University, before participating in the Creative Art Studio in the basement of the Clara Barton Elementary School with several of her friends.
There she taught drawing, painting, and printmaking until transitioning into a studio life. She then began a career as a florist. Recently retired from her florist profession, she is thrilled to bring her work into the public eye.
“Color Far and Near” is made possible through funding in part by North Dakota Council on the Arts and the Arts Partnership.
