It’s finally here! Shares of The Arts Partnership’s first annual Community Supported Art (CSA) program are on sale now. With only 50 shares to be had, you won’t want to wait. Click here to get signed up.
When TAP board member Erin Koffler brought this idea to the board last spring, we were all in agreement that it was a great idea. We did some research and contacted the originator of the idea, Springboard for the Arts in St. Paul; then we were ready to begin our own version.
The CSA program runs along the same lines as an agricultural CSA. Over the course of three parties (May 8, July 10 and September 11), shareholders will receive nine pieces of original, and unique to this program, pieces of art from area artists. They will be packed in one-of-a-kind bags made by TAP board member Shelly Hurt Geist of Partner FMCT, beautiful and usable pieces of artwork themselves.
Also, there will be “bumper crop” items in each bag–additional small items from various Partners.
Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served from Green Market, Bernie’s Wines and Liquors, Red Raven Espresso Parlor and Nichole’s Fine Pastry.
Here’s a sneak peak at the three parties (open to the shareholder plus a guest):
May 8: (location) The Rourke Museum
Artists: Emily Williams-Wheeler, Nordic Arts Alliance and Theatre B
July 10: (location) NDSU’s Renaissance Hall
Artists: Chelsea Thorson, Gallery 4, Ltd. and Carmen Bruhn
September 11: (location) The Stage at Island Park (home of FMCT)
Artists: Ann Arbor Miller, Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society and Brad Bachmeier
We’ll contact you by Monday, April 23rd either way to let you know if you are one of the first lucky 50 shareholders.
We are so excited about this project and expect that it is going to be the first of many, many CSAs to come. Get your shares today!
