The third annual CSA season is kicking off April 1 when 50 shares go on sale at midnight. If you have not purchased a share before, here’s how this works:
A share entitles you and a guest to enjoy three parties (Wednesday, May 7; Tuesday, July 8 and Thursday, September 25) where the artists are present to talk about their art. There is wonderful food and wine as well as entertainment and socializing. Of course, you get to bring home pieces of original art made exclusively for this program as well as have wonderfully rich and unique artistic experiences that are available nowhere else but with our CSA. All this for only $400.
Still not convinced? Melissa Schmalenberger, a first time CSA shareholder last year, has this to say about the experience:
Knowing that I want to experience and support local artists I wasn’t sure where to turn. But I trust The Art Partnership and their hand selection of local artists. So when I got the opportunity to buy a share of locally produced art, I jumped at it. Each party is fun, and getting to know the artists is an added bonus! Taking home unique, one of a kind pieces is great for a newbie collector like me or a more seasoned collector.
This year, we are starting each party at 6:30, where we will have a 30 minute artist talk with all three artists/arts organizations. This is for the shareholders who are interested in really getting to know the artists and their work as well as for those who want to ask questions. At 7:00 on all three evenings, the parties will begin. Food + wine+ art & artists + socializing = three wonderful events that you won’t want to miss.
Here’s two season shareholder veteran, Troy Pedersen:
The Arts Partnership was kind enough to share with me what they have in-store for this year’s CSA, and honestly, I don’t think I could be any more excited about it. Probably the biggest change for me is we get to spend time, quiet time, true quality time before the “party” to hear from the artists, listen to why they are committed to the CSA and why they created their artwork for us.
This year’s artists include:
Tim Lamey, photographer
Amber Parsons, ceramicist
Kim Jore, painter
Eric A. Johnson & Kent Kaplinger, print makers
Additionally, we have selected two artist experiences from Theatre B and FM Ballet, who will both be presenting new works for shareholders.
Finally, at each party, one of the shares will be the food. This will not be like any food you can order on any menu in town. Each chef will create an artistic tasting platter that will delight and expand your palette. We will have wine and other beverages that perfectly pair with the food for a truly artistic tasting experience.
All in all, you can’t go wrong with this investment; whether you are interested in knowing local artists more deeply, beginning an art collection, expanding your art collection, being exposed to lots of kinds of art, the element of surprise at what you will receive, having multiple date nights, meeting old and new friends, trying incredible food or a combination of many of the above, you won’t find a better program than this.
Be on the lookout for a post April 1 with the link to get signed up. We’ll see you at the CSA!
