FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FARGO, N.D. – It’s almost time for ChalkFest, the largest FREE art-making event in the Metro!
This year, ChalkFest takes place 10 – 4 p.m. Saturday, September 19 at The Red River Zoo, proudly hosted by The Arts Partnership and sponsored by 702 Communications. There will have an alternate rain date 10 – 4 p.m. Saturday, September 26 at The Red River Zoo.
ChalkFest is one of The Arts Partnership’s favorite annual programs because it’s a free event (including zoo admission) that invites people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to do one simple thing: draw with chalk. Want to draw a stick figure? Great!
Want to draw your mom, grandpa or babysitter? Maybe your favorite animal? Wonderful! The beauty of chalk is that it’s universal, it’s relatable and it’s fun.
In addition to free chalk, the day is full of fun activities, performances by local music groups, engagement with local artists and arts organizations and more.

Guests will be encouraged to wear masks and social distance in adherence to the Red River Zoo’s guidelines. Hosting ChalkFest at The Red River Zoo provides 32 acres of outdoor space for this event, allowing for more area to social distance and for maximum ventilation.
More information will be available on our Facebook event or at theartspartnership.net/chalkfest. Red River Zoo is located at 4255 23rd Ave. S. in Fargo.
Our COVID-19 safety measures for this event include recommending attendees wear a mask and social distance. We are setting the booths even further apart than we have in years past to help mitigate crowding in that area and so everyone has room to walk around their booth without worrying they’re getting too close.
