Downtown Fargo is a vibrant, active community with numerous places to dine, live, play and shop. Vinyl Taco is part of that dynamic ecosystem, and now they want to engage artists in a fun, creative and thematic way.
Vinyl Record Art is open to all types of visual artists. Interested artists will pick up a record from The Arts Partnership, located at 1104 2ndAvenue South, Suite 315 in the RDJ Rec Center building. Please call 701.237.6133 before you stop by as we are not always in the office and return it there before 5 pm on July 27 (it was originally published as the 28, but our office is closed on Saturdays).
A total of 40 records are available to become art pieces. Artists must fill out this form and return it with completed art pieces.
The records will all be hung at Vinyl Taco for the month of August with a closing party on August 28th. Each record will have artist information attached to it and be for auction throughout the month. Servers will keep track of and manage the bids. Each record can be purchased outright with a buyout bid of $350, although no records will be able to be taken home until after August 28th.
At the end of the month, the top bid of each record will be equally divided between the artist and The Arts Partnership.
An additional benefit of participating in this program is the visibility of the artist’s work in Downtown Fargo at Vinyl Taco for the entire month of August. In addition, The Arts Partnership and Vinyl Taco will have a significant social media marketing promotion around the program.
